This essential oil smells like the freshly picked herb and has a warm, y, herbaceous and fiery top note. The sweetness of this basil essential oil is due to the linalool content. The y aroma is due to the high methyl chavicol content. We chose this variation over those with less methyl chavicol content because the y and fiery scent is much more preferable while it still retains it's sweetness. It has a somewhat anise type bite due to the region where it was cultivated. It is a wonderful addition to perfume blends due to it's pleasing scent. Caution should be used and one should start off with a small amount when creating blends as basil essential oil can easily overpower most blends. This is an oil where the saying "a little goes a long ways" holds true in terms of scent when mixing with other oils.
